The Student Guild Board is a group of elected student representatives committed to enhancing student life at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus.
Every year, five new members are elected to join the Board and advocate the interests, needs and wants of the student body. Congratulations on the successful candidates listed below.
I am a second year law student with a strong passion for helping people and all things creative. I am an active member of the Student Guild and Wellness Warriors and am a teacher with Griffith’s Unified Dance. I am hardworking, enthusiastic and people-orientated. I am highly motivated by a challenge and love to let my inventive imagination run wild. Through this role, I will ensure that you have a voice at Griffith and that your voice is heard! Every student deserves to have a “remarkable” experience here at Griffith, and I will do my best to make it happen.
I believe that every student on campus has the right to feel heard, supported and respected. Freedom of speech on University campuses empowers students to have a place where they can discuss ideas, connect with like-minded individuals and learn from one another. It is in the truest spirit of higher education to allow open, respectful debate. The suppression of discussion puts the students of our campus at a disadvantage, as it helps to foster networks that can be of benefit in the later stages of their professional careers beyond graduation.
It would be a privilege to be granted a position on the Student Guild Board. The position is an opportunity to help create an engaging and connected environment in the social, sporting, and professional development community/programs. These lay the foundations behind an individual’s success and overall happiness during their time at Griffith.
I strongly believe that my approachability, open-mindedness, professionalism and ability to create long standing genuine relationships with fellow students, will complement the Student Guild. I strive to uphold the Guilds values and will advocate and support the interests of students and act as a representative of their opinions.
I am Ali from Iran. I graduated from Master of Civil Engineering and have recently started doing my PhD in Coastal Engineering at Griffith University. I became a member of Student Guild Crew in 2017 and have been volunteering with this wonderful organisation since then to hold different events for students. Joining Guild Crew is one of the most valuable events that has ever happened to me during my stay in Australia. Thanks to participating in many events, I have gained valuable and practical experience which will be of benefit to me to fulfil my duty as a board member.
